During the visit, Prof. Ismunandar shared valuable insights on family services and the urgency of investing in early childhood education. He emphasized the importance of early childhood education, scrutinizing regulations that underscore the need for 1 year of early childhood education before entering primary education to enhance the quality of children's education.

Empowering Education Together: SEAMEO CECCEP and the Education Office of Sawahlunto City Establish Transformative Partnership

SEAMEO CECCEP and the Education Office of Sawahlunto City celebrated a historic moment as they formalized their commitment through the signing of a cooperation agreement document on October 25, 2023. The ceremony took place at the Education Office Building, where Dr. Elis Rosdiawati, representing SEAMEO CECCEP, and Mr. Asril, S.Pd., M.Pd., the Head of the Education Office, officially signed the cooperation document. The scope of this Cooperation Agreement involved various aspects, including the research and development of Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE) and parenting models, community empowerment in the field of ECE and parenting, and the organization of various activities such as training, seminars, symposiums, workshops, international conferences, and guided discussions. Additionally, the agreement covered the development of joint networks at regional, national, and international levels and other program cooperation according to mutual agreement.

The 6Th SEAMEO CECCEP Governing Board Meeting (GBM) in Bali marked a milestone for early childhood care education and parenting in Southeast Asia.

SEAMEO CECCEP hosted prestigious events, the 6th Governing Board Meeting (GBM) and Annual Early Childhood Education and Parenting Regional Forum on holistic integrated ECCE and a Follow Up Plan for ASEAN Declaration on ECCE. This event took place on October 10-11, 2023 at Swiss-Belhotel Rainforest, Bali. This event was attended by 11 influential Governing Board (GB) members. Participants who have attended in person include Ms. Komalasari, M.Pd (GB from Indonesia), Mr. Park Kosal (GB from Cambodia), Ms. Shiphaphone Manivanh (GB Lao PDR), Ms. Alma Ruby C Torio (GB Philippines), Ms. Wongdusn Suwansiri (GB Thailand), Mr. Oman as a representative of Malaysia and Dr. Kamaleswaran Jayarajah representative of SEAMEO Secretariat.

SEAMEO CECCEP and UNESCO Jakarta Explore Strategic Cooperation for ECCE in Southeast Asia

This meeting is expected to open new opportunities and strengthen cooperation in improving the quality of early childhood education and parenting in the Southeast Asian region. The meeting was attended by Prof. Vina Adriany, Ph.D Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, Ith Vuthy, Deputy Director for Program and Rizal Nugraha Head of Advocacy and Partnership. The SEAMEO CECCEP team was welcomed by Dr. Maki Katsuno-Hayashikawa, Director of UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office in Jakarta and National Professional Officer for Education Unit, Mr. Gunawan Zakki on 29 September 2023 at UNESCO Building Jakarta.

SEAMEO CECCEP explored cooperation with the Department of Community Education, University of Education Indonesia

Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Early Childhood Care, Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) received a special visit from the Department of Community Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia on 21 September 2023 at the SEAMEO CECCEP Conference Room, Bandung. The meeting aimed to explore the potential for cooperation in efforts to improve early childhood education and community education in Indonesia. The visit was led by the Head of the Community Education Department, Dr. Yanti Shantini, M.Pd, who was accompanied by Dr. Dadang Yunus Lutfiansyah, M.Pd, Secretary of the Community Education Department, Deti Nudiati, M.Pd Lecturer in Community Education, and Hiromu Inoue, a student from Tohoku University. Their presence at SEAMEO CECCEP created a valuable moment in expanding cooperation in the field of early childhood education and community education.

SEAMEO CECCEP with Sangga Buana University Collaborate to Support Early Childhood Care and Education Programme

Bandung 3 February 2023- SEAMEO CECCEP has again collaborated with Sangga Buana University. This collaboration is an initiative to explore the cooperation that has been done before. The purpose of signing this MoU is initiation to develop the ECCE program. In his remarks, Dr. Didin Saepudin, SE., M.Si, rector of Sangga Buana University, said that this collaboration was the first step in establishing further cooperation. He also highlighted the importance of early childhood education and parenting. He noted that early childhood education requires a lot of support, including educational facilities.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony between SEAMEO CECCEP and Telkom University Faculty of Creative Industries

Bandung 2 February 2023- SEAMEO Regional Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (CECCEP) is collaborating with the Indonesian Creative Faculty at Telkom University in a program to strengthen information about stunting. In 2022 SEAMEO CECCEP was tagged by the National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS) for reducing stunting. So in 2023, SEAMEO CECCEP is working hard to minimize stunting cases through a training program with the theme "Parenting program for stunting prevention (PPSP)." SEAMEO CECCEP had worked this PPSP out hand-in-hand with Telkom University in 2022.

IIIU lecturer visited the SEAMEO CECCEP's Office

6 January 2023- SEAMEO CECCEP received a visit from the Indonesian International Islamic University (IIIU). Prof. Nina Nurmila, Ph.D., the dean of the Faculty of Education, with eight lecturers and staff, visited the SEAMEO CECCEP Office to discuss and identify the potential for collaboration. It is hoped that later a collaboration program can be agreed upon to strengthen and ensure the achievement of the cooperation goals between SEAMEO CECCEP and the Indonesian International Islamic University.

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) and Bina Bangsa University (UNIBA) Serang, Banten Indonesia, have collaborated on stunting prevention programs.
