Seri Begawan, June 11, 2024 - Mrs. Komalasari, M.Pd, Director
of Early Childhood Education at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research,
and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, along with Professor Vina Adriany,
Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, and Mr. Rizal Nugraha, M.Pd, visited Her Excellency
Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary of
the Ministry of Education of Brunei Darussalam. They were warmly received by
Her Excellency during their meeting.
Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati praised
SEAMEO-CECCEP for its efforts in advancing regional cooperation among Southeast
Asian countries, including Brunei Darussalam. She appreciated SEAMEO-CECCEP's
initiatives and expressed her hope that the training programs for Early
Childhood Education (ECE) teachers in Brunei would continue in the coming
years.
The discussion focused on the ongoing cooperation
between the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the
Republic of Indonesia (MOECRT), the Ministry of Education of Brunei Darussalam
(MOE Brunei Darussalam), and SEAMEO-CECCEP. They reached an agreement to
strengthen their partnership with the aim of enhancing the provision of Early
Childhood Education (ECE) in both countries.
Professor Vina Adriany explained the potential
for collaboration between SEAMEO-CECCEP and the Ministry of Education of Brunei
Darussalam, especially in the upcoming year when Brunei will serve as the
president of the SEAMEO Secretariat Council.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement and
optimism for future collaboration, emphasizing their commitment to advancing
early childhood education and development in the region.
This visit marks a significant milestone in
strengthening educational ties and promoting best practices in early childhood
education between SEAMEO-CECCEP and educational institutions in Brunei
Darussalam.
