OVERVIEW

I proudly present the 7th SEAMEO CECCEP Annual Report for the Fiscal Year 2023/2024. Throughout 2024, many events and changes have shaped our journey, and this report captures the programs and activities the centre has successfully carried out. In line with our mandate, we have implemented various training programs for early childhood education (ECE) teachers and parents alongside research, development, advocacy, and partnership initiatives. These efforts are part of our broader mission to promote children’s rights, which are crucial to their well-being, growth, and protection.

Moreover, we recognize that universal child care is deeply intertwined with respecting women’s rights, particularly regarding reproductive health. This perspective aligns with our belief that every child deserves access to quality, inclusive, and accessible education, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive. Our continued efforts to advocate for children’s access to their health rights further support this, ensuring they reach the highest attainable levels of physical and mental well-being through access to healthcare, nutritious food, clean water, and a
safe environment.

To complement these goals, we remain committed to realizing a holistic and integrative education system by supporting the Indonesian government’s initiatives to enhance the quality of early childhood education. In 2023/2024, we also reinforced our  commitment by backing the government’s program to prevent and reduce stunting. None of these achievements would have been possible without the invaluable support of our partners, including local governments, international organizations, government agencies, and universities.

Finally, it’s important to emphasize that parenting is a shared responsibility. Raising and nurturing children is not solely the task of parents but involves the collective efforts of family members, communities, educators, healthcare professionals, and society. Working together can create a nurturing and supportive environment for children, ensuring they receive the care, guidance, and resources they need to grow and succeed.
