The collaboration between the Ambon City Education Office, Balai Guru Penggerak Maluku, and SEAMEO CECCEP, along with 7 SEAMEO CENTRE INDONESIA (SCI), was a crucial milestone in educational collaboration. This effort was formalized through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement held with high enthusiasm at the Manise Hotel on November 12, 2023. This agreement represented a shared commitment to advancing the early childhood care education and parenting sector by involving various aspects, including research, advocacy, and capacity building, as well as partnerships.

Our Happy Neighbourhood: Children's Rights Fulfillment Training for ECE Teachers in Sawahlunto

The Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care, Education, and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) recently successfully organized a teacher training program in Sawahlunto, West Sumatera, Indonesia. The event was attended by 40 participants, consisting of 20 Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers and 20 students, who enthusiastically participated in the "Our Happy Neighbourhood" (OHN) module training. The OHN module aligned with the mission of Holistic Integrative Early Childhood Development (PAUDHI) and promoted children's rights. The face-to-face training took place from October 24-25, 2023, to equip teachers with knowledge of children's rights and universal care.

Empowering ECCE Teachers in the Philippines: SEAMEO CECCEP successfully initiated Online Training

On May 25, 2022, SEAMEO CECCEP organized a training session with the theme "Our Happy Neighbourhood (OHN)," which was conducted online. The module discussed children's rights, including protection, provision, and participation. One of the topics covered in this activity was happy children. This module explored children's rights from marginalized groups, the importance of children's participation rights, and the need to listen to children's voices. In her opening remarks, the Director expressed gratitude and welcomed the 30 participants who were early childhood education teachers from the Philippines. The Director of SEAMEO CECCEP explained that the training would focus on the Happy Children Module, which aims to promote children's rights worldwide. This occasion served as a bridge for collaboration between SEAMEO CECCEP and the Philippines in achieving our common goals in the future. Vina stated, "We hope this training can assist teachers, both in Indonesia and the Philippines, especially Early Childhood Education teachers."

Strengthen Early Childhood Care Educators: SEAMEO CECCEP Conducted a Parenting Program for Stunting Prevention in Ogan Komering Ulu, Indonesia

SEAMEO CECCEP has developed the Parenting Program for Stunting Prevention (PPSP) Model. The development of this model is a form of implementation of SEAMEO CECCEP's commitment from the national program to accelerate stunting prevention with BAPPENAS. This model aims to support the government program to accelerate the reduction of stunting prevalence rates, which by 2024 are expected to reach 14%. The development of this program has produced three activity plans, namely 1) Information-strengthening programs, 2) Programs to strengthen parents' knowledge and skills, and 3) Programs to provide individual assistance services for parents.

Blended training: Our Happy Neighborhood in Tasikmalaya City, West Java, Indonesia

SEAMEO CECCEP successfully conducted training for ECCE teachers in Tasikmalaya, West Java, Indonesia. This training was held from November 7 to December 16 in a blended manner. As many as 30 ECCE teachers participated in the "Our Happy Neighborhood" training. On December 16, 2022, training participants evaluated the OHN training at the Indonesian University of Education, Tasikmalaya Campus. This training evaluation aims to analyze and determine the level of effectiveness of the training program. The OHN module discusses the importance of knowledge of children's rights which is the basis for realizing early childhood education free from bullying, intolerance, and violence.

Batch 3: Realizing Quality ECCE Through Improving Caregiving, Welfare, and Health Services

In an effort to realize the quality of early childhood education and parenting, International Women's University, SEAMEO CECCEP, and CIMB NIAGA are again conducting training for early childhood education teachers. Training Participants in this batch 3 consisted of early childhood education teachers from Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta. A total of 92 teachers were enthusiastic about training in the BBPMP, West Java. SEAMEO CECCEP, International women's University, and CIMB NIAGA are committed to realizing quality education, cooperation, and good work of all stakeholders required. Early childhood education will be of high quality if the human resources (HR) also have quality competencies.

Training Batch 2: Realizing Quality ECCE through Improving care, wellbeing, and Health Services

SEAMEO Regional Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (CECCEP), International Women's University, and CIMB NIAGA conducted training in the 2nd session titled "Realizing Quality ECCE through Improving Care, Welfare and Health Services" at the Center for Education Quality Assurance or (Balai Besar Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan- BBPMP) West Java. This training lasts for six days, from 24-29 November 2022.

On 7 November to 16 December 2022, SEAMEO CECCEP conducted training for ECE teachers in Tasikmalaya City, West Java, Indonesia. A total of 30 participants consisting of teachers and kindergarten principals, participated in the activity in the digital laboratory building, Tasikmalaya Campus. The movement was titled "Our Happy Neighborhood," abbreviated (OHN). This training implements the collaboration between SEAMEO CECCEP and the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Tasikmalaya Campus. Also attending were Ith Vuthy, M.Sc., MA (Deputy Director for Programs), Asep Subagja, S.Pd (as Head of Capacity Building Division), Iwan Aries S., M.Ti (Head of Knowledge Management Division) and staff.

Workshop on Early Childhood Education with Prof. Marek Tesar

the workshop on early childhood education on Friday, 26 August 2022. This workshop took place at the SEAMEO CECCEP office in Lembang, Indonesia. The resource person of this workshop was Prof Marek Tesar, PhD. Prof Tesar is the Associate Dean International at the Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Auckland. He is one of the Advisory Board Members of SEAMEO CECCEP as well. The participants of this workshop were the SEAMEO CECCEP staff with various backgrounds of education, not exclusively in the early childhood education area. This diversity can be an advantage for the studies in SEAMEO CECCEP.

Ogan Komering Ulu Government Provides Training for Early Childhood Teachers

P2K2S is a parenting practice designed to increase parents' awareness of their role as themselves and as parents. In this training, parents are not exclusively taught on how to react properly to a parenting situation or even systematic strategy in parenting, but this training emphasizes skills in daily life and parenting situations which can improve the quality of parenting and daily interaction between parents and children.

Training for Trainers for Mindfulness and Loving Care (P2K2S) in D.I. Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia

Southeast Asian Ministers Of Education Organization Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) in collaboration with Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), and Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) held a Training for Prospective Trainers on "Mindful and Loving Care” (Pengasuhan Penuh Kesadaran dan Kasih Sayang”. The participants are 37 ECCE teachers in D I. Yogyakarta, Indonesia. These teachers are expected to provide a positive parenting experience to teachers and parents. Later, they can train parents and implement it in their daily lives.
