Training Language Skills Through USIEL

In an effort to enhance the English language proficiency of its staff members, the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) conducted dynamic training sessions called Upgrade Skills in English Language, abbreviated as USIEL. This activity was attended by all SEAMEO CECCEP staff with the primary aim of improving the English language abilities of the staff. The sessions took place once a week on Wednesdays.

During these training sessions, each staff member was given the opportunity to present materials they had prepared beforehand. This is part of the USIEL's strategy aimed at not only improving language skills but also boosting confidence and strengthening English language abilities during early childhood development among the participants.

Speaking about the importance of USIEL, Asep Subagja, Head of Capacity Building at SEAMEO CECCEP, highlighted the crucial role of language in advancing the organization's mission to promote quality early childhood care and education throughout the Southeast Asian region. "Effective communication is the foundation of our efforts at SEAMEO CECCEP. Through initiatives like USIEL, we empower our staff members to communicate confidently and competently, thereby enhancing their ability to contribute meaningfully to collective goals. We hope this activity will be well-received by participants and all staff at SEAMEO CECCEP."

Participants of USIEL also welcomed the opportunity to enhance their English language skills. "I feel greatly supported by USIEL as I can learn from my coworkers and improve my speaking and writing abilities in English," said Hermidun, one of the participants.

With the success of USIEL, SEAMEO CECCEP plans to continue organizing various training and development programs for its staff.
