Bandung, September 18, 2024 – The Ibu Profesional community visited SEAMEO CECCEP's office to discuss a collaborative program to enhance early childhood education and parenting practices in Indonesia. The visit was attended by representatives from the ibu professional community and they were welcomed by the SEAMEO CECCEP team.
The event began with a welcoming speech from the Head of Ibu Profesional, Mrs. Dzikra I. Ulya, who emphasized the importance of collaboration between various parties in creating an environment that supports children's growth and development. "We consciously recognize and have a positive outlook on the fact that the family plays a significant role in the overall development and growth of children. Through this discussion, we hope to share knowledge and experiences in supporting the role of parents," she said.
The Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, in her speech, expressed openness to collaboration, noting that in the future, several programs from the Ibu Profesional community and SEAMEO CECCEP could be integrated, with plans to implement training and seminars for parents.
During the discussion, both parties discussed various programs and initiatives that could be carried out jointly. One important point raised was the need to value the role of parents in the children's education process. "Parents are the first and foremost educators for their children. Valuing the role of parents is equivalent to valuing the learning process of the children," said one member of Ibu Profesional.
This topic led to a discussion on the importance of providing support and empowerment for parents so they can feel more confident in educating their children. It also included discussions on developing training modules for parents, outreach about the importance of early stimulation, and creative programs that can engage children in enjoyable learning processes.
The Head of the Ibu Profesional community also expressed hope that the results of the discussion could be realized through concrete activities. "We believe that with the support of SEAMEO CECCEP, we can expand the reach of our programs and provide greater benefits for families across Indonesia," she said.
This visit demonstrated the commitment of both parties to improving the quality of early childhood education in Indonesia and strengthening the role of parents in supporting their children's learning process. With close collaboration, it is hoped that the shared goal of creating a future golden generation can be realized.
