Jakarta – On May 14, 2025, the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), in collaboration with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection/National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), officially launched the Early Childhood Development Index (ECDI) 2030 in Jakarta. This significant event aims to measure and monitor the quality of early childhood development in Indonesia.
One of the highlights of the launch event was the “Respondent Panel” session, which featured experts and government representatives offering insights on the newly introduced index. Prof. Vina Adriany, Ph.D., Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, was among the expert panelists. In her response, Prof. Vina Adriany expressed appreciation for the launch of ECDI 2030, recognizing it as a critical milestone in advancing the quality of early childhood development in Indonesia. She emphasized the importance of comprehensive data and indicators in shaping effective and targeted policies and interventions.
The launch also featured a keynote address by Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard (Vice Minister of National Development Planning/Vice Head of Bappenas), and a talk show session with Amich Alhumami, Ph.D. (Deputy for Human Development and Culture, Bappenas), Dr. Ateng Hartono (Deputy for Social Statistics, BPS), and Prof. Budi Setiyono, Ph.D. (Secretary of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection/Deputy for Coordination and Partnerships, MoWECP). The ECDI 2030 launch is expected to serve as a strong foundation for achieving inclusive and high-quality early childhood development in Indonesia, aligned with the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event was supported by the Tanoto Foundation and UNICEF.
