Universitas Sangga Buana
conducted a visit to SEAMEO CECCEP on February 28, 2024. This visit was part of
the university's efforts to expand its network and enhance collaboration with
SEAMEO CECCEP. The discussions also covered collaboration in the form of
community service. One of the goals of community service was to implement the
entrepreneurial-based vision of Universitas Sangga Buana.
Ms. Andhini, the Director of the
Cooperation Division at Universitas Sangga Buana, was accompanied by Mr.
Saepudin (Chief Executive of Community Service Program), Deden Rizal (Vice
Chief Executive of Community Service Program), Welly (Vice Dean of the Faculty
of Economics), and Mr. Suzuki (ECCE Teacher from Japan). Ms. Andhini also
introduced the profile and vision-mission of Universitas Sangga Buana. She
stated that the purpose of the visit was to forge closer cooperation in the
field of Early Childhood Education. "We hope this visit can open the door
to beneficial and sustainable cooperation in the future, especially in
education. We also want to discuss," said Mrs. Andhini.
During the visit, the team from
Universitas Sangga Buana was warmly received by the Director of SEAMEO CECCEP,
Professor Vina Adriany, who also delivered a welcome address and information
regarding potential cooperation between the two institutions.
Mr. Samsudin presented various
collaboration potentials in academic, research, and joint development,
especially in early childhood economic literacy. He also emphasized the
importance of introducing discipline to young children, including being
punctual, queuing, disposing of trash properly, and the importance of
environmental conservation.
In the discussion session, Mr.
Suzuki, a teacher from Japan, shared best practices in early childhood
education, focusing on three main aspects: parenting, nutrition fulfillment,
and ensuring adequate sleep for children.
The visit concluded with the
exchange of mementos as a sign of appreciation for the hospitality and
potential collaboration arising from the meeting. SEAMEO CECCEP hopes that this
visit can be the first step in developing a positive and mutually beneficial
relationship between the two parties. In the closing remarks, the director
emphasized that encouraging the expansion of access to early childhood
education and paying attention to their well-being are crucial steps in
building an inclusive and sustainable educational foundation. Improving teacher
capacity through self-directed programs will ensure that education delivered
not only encompasses a robust curriculum but also engages innovative and
adaptive teaching methods tailored to the needs of children.
