Strategic Collaboration: Sangga Buana University Visited SEAMEO CECCEP to Strengthen Networking and Cooperation

Universitas Sangga Buana conducted a visit to SEAMEO CECCEP on February 28, 2024. This visit was part of the university's efforts to expand its network and enhance collaboration with SEAMEO CECCEP. The discussions also covered collaboration in the form of community service. One of the goals of community service was to implement the entrepreneurial-based vision of Universitas Sangga Buana.

Ms. Andhini, the Director of the Cooperation Division at Universitas Sangga Buana, was accompanied by Mr. Saepudin (Chief Executive of Community Service Program), Deden Rizal (Vice Chief Executive of Community Service Program), Welly (Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics), and Mr. Suzuki (ECCE Teacher from Japan). Ms. Andhini also introduced the profile and vision-mission of Universitas Sangga Buana. She stated that the purpose of the visit was to forge closer cooperation in the field of Early Childhood Education. "We hope this visit can open the door to beneficial and sustainable cooperation in the future, especially in education. We also want to discuss," said Mrs. Andhini.

During the visit, the team from Universitas Sangga Buana was warmly received by the Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, Professor Vina Adriany, who also delivered a welcome address and information regarding potential cooperation between the two institutions.

Mr. Samsudin presented various collaboration potentials in academic, research, and joint development, especially in early childhood economic literacy. He also emphasized the importance of introducing discipline to young children, including being punctual, queuing, disposing of trash properly, and the importance of environmental conservation.

In the discussion session, Mr. Suzuki, a teacher from Japan, shared best practices in early childhood education, focusing on three main aspects: parenting, nutrition fulfillment, and ensuring adequate sleep for children.

The visit concluded with the exchange of mementos as a sign of appreciation for the hospitality and potential collaboration arising from the meeting. SEAMEO CECCEP hopes that this visit can be the first step in developing a positive and mutually beneficial relationship between the two parties. In the closing remarks, the director emphasized that encouraging the expansion of access to early childhood education and paying attention to their well-being are crucial steps in building an inclusive and sustainable educational foundation. Improving teacher capacity through self-directed programs will ensure that education delivered not only encompasses a robust curriculum but also engages innovative and adaptive teaching methods tailored to the needs of children.
