SEAMEO CECCEP Prepares Advocacy Materials for Holistic Integrative Early Childhood Development

Bandung, 15 May 2025 – SEAMEO CECCEP (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting) hosted a three-day event (15–17 May 2025) at Mercure Nexa Supratman, Bandung, to develop advocacy materials for Holistic Integrative Early Childhood DDr. Nurman Siagian, Policy Manager, INOVASI

Participants represented a range of institutions including the Directorate of ECD, UNICEF Indonesia, Plan International Australia, Tanoto Foundation, KREASI, the International Islamic University of Indonesia, and the SEAMEO CECCEP internal team.


PAUD-HI is an integrated approach to early childhood development encompassing education, health, nutrition, and child protection. While widely implemented across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, PAUD-HI still faces key challenges such as regulatory gaps, limited funding, and fragmented cross-sector coordination.

Aligned with SDG 4.2 and global declarations like the Tashkent and ASEAN Declarations, the event underscores SEAMEO CECCEP's ongoing commitment to ensuring quality, inclusive, and equitable ECD services.

Through this initiative, SEAMEO CECCEP reaffirms its regional leadership in advancing holistic and inclusive early childhood development. The event marks a crucial step in strengthening advocacy efforts to support the emergence of a healthy, intelligent, and character-driven generation in Indonesia.evelopment (PAUD-HI).

The initiative aimed to produce effective advocacy tools, foster collaboration among stakeholders, and address strategic issues in PAUD-HI development in Indonesia. These materials are expected to support both central and local governments in formulating inclusive and evidence-based PAUD-HI policies and programs.

The event was officially opened by SEAMEO CECCEP Director, Prof. Vina Adriany, M.Ed., Ph.D., and featured prominent speakers such as:
