SEAMEO CECCEP, in collaboration with the Education and Culture Office of Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatera organized a Training of Trainers (TOT) program titled "Anaku Sehat Anakku Cerdas 2" from December 4 to 6, 2024. The training focused on parenting as a strategy to prevent stunting, aiming to enhance the capacity of Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers in supporting children's growth and development. The event was officially opened by the Head of the Human Resources Development Division at the Education and Culture Office of Muara Enim, Marsip Agustam, S.Pd., M.Pd.I., who expressed his appreciation for the program as a concrete step toward building a healthier and smarter generation.
In his remarks, Marsip emphasized the vital role of ECE teachers in shaping the future of children. He also shared his hope that the training would help teachers guide children using effective and compassionate approaches. The event was also attended by Drs. H. Rusdi Hairullah, M.Si., who expressed his support for the joint initiative. The collaboration between SEAMEO CECCEP and the Muara Enim Education Office symbolized a strong synergy in advancing early childhood education and improving public health.
The training materials were designed to provide practical guidance for participants. One of the key topics covered was "A Smooth Transition from ECE to Primary School," which aimed to prepare children for a comfortable and supportive learning experience during their transition. Participants also studied a module on "Positive Discipline Parenting," a parenting approach focused on shaping good behavior through nurturing and educational methods rather than punishment. Another focus area was "Strengthening Basic Skills in Individual Support," designed to assist teachers and educators in addressing the specific needs of each child.
The program also marked a significant milestone with the signing of a cooperation agreement between SEAMEO CECCEP and the Head of the Muara Enim Education Office. This agreement was expected to open doors for various future collaborative programs supporting early childhood education and child health in the region. It underscored both parties' commitment to working together on impactful initiatives.
As the training concluded, SEAMEO CECCEP and the Muara Enim Education Office hoped that the outcomes of the program would directly benefit teachers, parents, and children in the Muara Enim Regency. This initiative stood as a testament to the power of strong collaboration in creating shared solutions to prevent stunting and promote the growth and development of the next generation.
