Bandung, 22 September 2026 – SEAMEO Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) officially welcomed the second batch of internship participants through an opening session marking the beginning of their six-month internship programme. The event was attended by SEAMEO CECCEP’s leadership, heads of divisions, staff members, and internship participants who are ready to embark on a professional learning journey within the organisation.

In her welcoming remarks, Prof. Vina Adriany, M.Ed., Ph.D., Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, expressed her appreciation and welcomed the participants to become part of the SEAMEO CECCEP community. She highlighted that the internship programme is designed not only to provide professional experience but also to create opportunities for mutual learning between interns and the organisation. She encouraged participants to actively communicate with their mentors, supervisors, and colleagues throughout the programme.

Prof. Vina also emphasised that early childhood care and education (ECCE) is a broad and complex field that requires interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives. Issues in ECCE extend beyond classroom practices and are closely connected with various fields, including sociology, economics, anthropology, and other areas of knowledge. She shared examples of SEAMEO CECCEP’s research initiatives, including studies on anti-bias education, early childhood education financing, and ethnographic research, which demonstrate the importance of diverse perspectives in understanding ECCE challenges.

She further highlighted that the diverse academic backgrounds of the internship participants represent valuable opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange. Through this programme, interns are expected not only to gain insights and experiences from SEAMEO CECCEP but also to contribute their perspectives, ideas, and experiences to the organisation.

Meanwhile, Enden Nur Saidah, Head of Operational Division of SEAMEO CECCEP, encouraged participants to use this internship opportunity to develop both professional and personal skills. She emphasised the importance of interpersonal and intrapersonal competencies, including effective communication, adapting to differences, managing misunderstandings, and building respectful relationships with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

Tiara Delia, M.Psi., Human Resource Management (HRM) of SEAMEO CECCEP, also encouraged the interns to actively engage throughout the six-month programme. She highlighted the importance of open communication with mentors and supervisors, asking questions, learning from colleagues, and participating in organisational activities beyond their assigned divisions.

The opening session concluded with a warm welcome to the second batch of internship participants as they officially began their journey at SEAMEO CECCEP. Through this programme, SEAMEO CECCEP continues to provide opportunities for young professionals and students to gain practical experience, broaden their perspectives, and deepen their understanding of early childhood care and education within a collaborative and international environment.

SEAMEO CECCEP hopes that this six-month internship experience will become a meaningful and valuable learning journey that supports participants’ academic and professional development in the future.
