Bekasi — The Deputy Director for Program of the SEAMEO Centre for Early Childhood Care and Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) served as a resource person at the Socialization of the Implementation of Childcare through Taman Anak Sejahtera (TAS), which was organized by the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation through the Directorate of Child Social Rehabilitation. The activity was held on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, at Aston Imperial Hotel Bekasi, West Java. The event was attended by stakeholders from both central and regional levels who were involved in the implementation of childcare and child protection programs.

Taman Anak Sejahtera (TAS) was one of the national priority programs outlined in the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). The program had been recognized as an effective instrument to prevent violence, exploitation, and neglect of children, while also supporting efforts to reduce stunting and providing a safe space for parents—particularly mothers—to remain economically productive without compromising the quality of childcare.

In the session, the Deputy Director for Program of SEAMEO CECCEP delivered a presentation entitled “Fulfillment of Children’s Rights and Early Childhood Development through Taman Anak Sejahtera.” The presentation emphasized the importance of a holistic approach to early childhood care, focusing not only on meeting basic needs but also on safeguarding children’s rights, promoting optimal development, and strengthening the role of families and communities.

Furthermore, the presentation highlighted that cross-sectoral synergy and the alignment of perspectives among stakeholders were crucial to ensuring the effective implementation of TAS across regions. The revitalization of TAS within social service centers was also considered essential to improving the quality of inclusive, safe, and sustainable childcare services.

Through this socialization activity, it was expected that a shared understanding, more integrated working mechanisms, and an accelerated expansion of the Taman Anak Sejahtera program would be achieved as part of national efforts to enhance childcare quality and child protection in Indonesia.
