Musi Banyuasin Education Department (Disdik Muba) and the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) have formalized a partnership aimed at enhancing the quality of early childhood education (ECCE) in the regency. The agreement was signed on January 23, 2025, by Disdik Muba Head, Dr. H. Iskandar Syahriyanto, and SEAMEO CECCEP Director, Prof. Vina Adriany.

Dr. Syahriyanto emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration, particularly for remote areas within the regency. He highlighted the challenge of limited civil servant teachers, making teacher training and overall educational quality a top priority. "Improving the quality of teachers, students, and learning is crucial," he stated.

The local government has pledged its full support for SEAMEO CECCEP's ECCE programs. Existing initiatives in Musi Banyuasin include kindergarten teacher training, technical guidance on Holistic Integrative ECCE (PAUDHI), and stunting reduction programs in affected villages, including nutritional support.

Prof. Adriany expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and its potential for long-term impact. "This marks the beginning of a collaborative effort to advance and maintain quality early childhood education and family support at the local, national, and regional levels," she said.

The collaboration between Disdik Muba and SEAMEO CECCEP is expected to significantly benefit ECCE development in Musi Banyuasin. By focusing on teacher development, family empowerment, and addressing stunting, the partnership aims to cultivate a high-quality and competitive future generation.
