SEAMEO CECCEP reaffirmed its commitment to advancing equitable access to quality early childhood care and education across Southeast Asia at the 9th Annual Governing Board Meeting, held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 19 October 2026. The meeting brought together regional representatives and partners to review the Centre’s achievements and strengthen collaboration in early childhood education and parenting.
The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) and the Indonesian Child Protection Institute (LPAI) explored opportunities to strengthen child protection through responsive parenting, inclusive education, and safe, child-friendly environments. The discussion included the proposed RAISE programme and opportunities to improve the quality of Early Childhood Education (ECE) services.
Subang, 8 October 2026 – SEAMEO CECCEP conducted a Training on Strengthening the Capacity of Educators and Local Government Agencies to Support the Implementation of Holistic Integrative Early Childhood Development (PAUDHI) in Subang Regency on 7–8 October 2026. The training was attended by 50 teachers and school principals. It aimed to strengthen educators’ capacity to identify and analyse the essential needs of young children while promoting cross-sector coordination to ensure that service planning and development were increasingly responsive to local conditions.
West Bandung, 24 September 2026– SEAMEO CECCEP contributed to strengthening early childhood education capacity through an inclusive education training program organized by the Indonesian Kindergarten Teachers Association (IGTKI) of West Bandung Regency. The training was attended by 519 kindergarten teachers from across West Bandung Regency and aimed to enhance teachers’ understanding and skills in creating inclusive learning environments that accommodated the diverse needs of all children.
Bandung, 22 September 2026 – SEAMEO Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) officially welcomed the second batch of internship participants through an opening session marking the beginning of their six-month internship programme. The event was attended by SEAMEO CECCEP’s leadership, heads of divisions, staff members, and internship participants who are ready to embark on a professional learning journey within the organisation.
Lima Puluh Kota, 22 September 2026 – SEAMEO CECCEP contributed to strengthening the quality of early childhood education (ECE) services through its participation as a resource institution in the Technical Guidance on Parenting Implementation for Early Childhood Education Students Based on Culture and Family Approaches, held on 21–22 September 2026 in Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, West Sumatra.
Lembang, Indonesia – 15 September 2026 SEAMEO Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) welcomed representatives from the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Indonesia for a knowledge exchange visit focused on strengthening early childhood care and education (ECCE). The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to share experiences, discuss ECCE approaches, and explore potential areas of future collaboration in supporting children and families.
Bandung, 26 August 2026- The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) had welcomed an audience visit from the Ikatan Guru Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal (IGABA) to discuss potential collaboration in human resource development, particularly in strengthening the capacity of Kindergarten Aisyiyah teachers across Indonesia. The meeting had provided a platform for both institutions to discuss various forms of collaboration, including teacher training programmes, seminars, and joint research opportunities in the field of early childhood care and education (ECCE)
Vietnam, 24 August 2026 – The Director of SEAMEO Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP), Prof. Vina Adriany, M.Ed., Ph.D., was invited as a speaker at an international symposium on Global South Studies, which was held from 21–24 August 2026 in Vietnam. During the symposium, Prof. Vina Adriany presented her research on young children’s understanding of historical events. Her presentation highlighted the ways young children developed meanings and interpretations of historical narratives, as well as the importance of providing meaningful and age-appropriate approaches in early childhood education to support children’s engagement with history and social contexts.
Jakarta, 11 August 2026 – The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP), in collaboration with Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA), strengthened research collaboration to map early childhood teachers’ competencies in numeracy instruction through the Coaching Pilot Study of Instrument Development for Mapping Kindergarten Teachers\' Mathematics Knowledge for Teaching.
