Bandung 20-22 April 2026- SEAMEO CECCEP organized a three-day activity titled “Strengthening Strategic Communication through Digital and Print Media in Support of the SEAMEO CECCEP Knowledge Management Program 2026” as part of its efforts to enhance knowledge dissemination strategies and institutional publications. The activity was attended by SEAMEO CECCEP staff and interns.
The program featured several experienced speakers, including Zein Permana, Bareyn Mochaddin, and Silmia Putri, who discussed various strategic approaches to digital communication, content production, and multi-platform utilization.
On the first day, the session delivered by Zein Permana highlighted the importance of transforming information dissemination through integrated digital platforms. He emphasized that social media is not merely a space for increasing popularity, but a strategic tool to achieve real impact, such as building trust and encouraging audience action. According to him, content success is not solely determined by the number of followers or engagement rates, but by its effectiveness in generating tangible outcomes or “closing.”
Furthermore, it was explained that content strategy must have a clear direction by combining three main types: educational, relatable, and authority-based content. These elements play a crucial role in building trust, emotional connection, and institutional positioning. In addition, brand personality, visual consistency, and the selection of appropriate platforms are key factors in creating effective and targeted digital communication.
On the second day, Bareyn Mochaddin emphasized that the primary goal of content is not to go viral, but to deliver the right information to the right audience. He highlighted the importance of understanding the target audience in a specific and in-depth manner, including their needs, challenges, and preferences. Without this understanding, even high-quality content risks missing its intended audience.
This session also discussed the importance of storytelling approaches, simple language, and engaging visual formats to ensure messages are effectively received. The AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) strategy was introduced as a framework for structuring content that can capture attention and drive audience action.
Meanwhile, Silmia Putri elaborated on the importance of a multi-platform strategy in disseminating information. She explained that a single source of knowledge, such as a journal or research output, can be transformed into various content formats, including website articles, social media posts, podcasts, newsletters, and print media. Each platform serves a different function, from building credibility and expanding reach to strengthening audience loyalty.
This approach enables complex information to become more accessible and understandable for various audience segments, including the general public, practitioners, and academics. Additionally, content planning through editorial calendars and clear team role distribution plays an important role in maintaining consistency and publication quality.
On the third day, which also marked the closing session, the importance of developing structured and measurable branding and communication strategies was emphasized. Strengthening systems, particularly digital platforms such as websites, is a crucial step to ensure that all institutional outputs are widely accessible and have clear evaluation indicators.
The activity also highlighted the importance of cross-divisional integration, communication consistency, and team commitment in maintaining institutional quality and professionalism. Amid challenges related to limited resources, optimizing content strategies and internal collaboration becomes key to enhancing communication impact.
Through this activity, SEAMEO CECCEP reaffirmed its commitment to continuously developing an adaptive, strategic, and impactful knowledge management system. With a more targeted and audience-based communication approach, it is expected that research outputs, programs, and innovations will become more accessible, understandable, and beneficial to the wider community.
