SEAMEO CECCEP Holds Training of Trainers (PCP) on GEMBIRA Module for Internal Capacity Building

SEAMEO CECCEP successfully organized a PCP (Training of Trainers) using the GEMBIRA Module (Gerakan Membimbing Anak Bersiap Sekolah). This activity took place over two days, from February 10 to 11, 2025, at the SEAMEO CECCEP Office Auditorium room.  

The training was initiated and overseen by SEAMEO CECCEP's Capacity Building Division, with the main objective of increasing the internal capacity of the staff. A total of 29 participants consisting of SEAMEO CECCEP staff, representatives from BBPMP (Education Quality Assurance Center) West Java and the GEMBIRA module writing team participated in this activity. 

The GEMBIRA module, launched on December 26, 2024, is the main focus of this training. This module consists of 6 (six) sections that discuss various important aspects of early childhood development, namely:

Establishing Communication and Partnership with Parents: 

Head of SEAMEO CECCEP's Capacity Building Division, Asep Subagja, said that the training aims to train participants to be able to act as mentors in GEMBIRA (Gerakan Membimbing Anak Bersiap Sekolah) activities. After completing this training, participants are expected to have: 

In-depth and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of GEMBIRA (Gerakan Membimbing Anak Bersiap Sekolah).

Practical skills and techniques for implementing GEMBIRA (Gerakan Membimbing Anak Bersiap Sekolah) in PAUD units. 

Effective communication and mentoring skills to assist other PAUD teachers/educators in developing their capacity building scenarios in terms of socializing GEMBIRA information, the stages of implementing planning, implementation and evaluation strategies and their impact on the learning process, especially for students in PAUD units. 

Mastery of good mentoring techniques, including techniques in providing pragmatic advice, as well as providing ongoing assistance for those who are in the process of learning to implement GEMBIRA (Gerakan Membimbing Anak Bersiap Sekolah) in their units.

the Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, Prof. Vina Adriany, officially opened this training activity. In her speech, she expressed the hope that the GEMBIRA module would not only stop at the launch stage, but could continue and have a significant impact on teachers and parents. She also invited all participants to commit to delivering and following the activities listed in the GEMBIRA module happily, and emphasized that teachers and parents will be greatly helped by this module. Prof. Vina Adriany also expressed her gratitude to the writing team, resource persons present, and of course to the participants for their participation. She hopes that this training can be a productive forum for discussion and sharing experiences. 

The learning methods used during the training included varied lectures, group discussions, experience sharing, roleplay, and assignments. The participants participated in this activity with great enthusiasm, showing a high spirit of learning and a desire to contribute to improving the quality of early childhood education in Indonesia.
