On 10 February 2023, Philippines- SEAMEO CECCEP has always been active in contributing to the field of ECCE and parenting. SEAMEO CECCEP strives to realize its vision and mission to enhance regional understanding, cooperation, and unity of purpose among member countries for a better quality of life. SEAMEO CECCEP continues to enhance cooperation with partners by establishing networks and partnerships, providing forums between policymakers and experts, and promoting sustainable human resource development. SEAMEO CECCEP cannot work alone but requires strong inter-sectoral relationships. This is why our visit to Quezon City University, Philippines was considered important to our programmes and activities.
Prof. Vina Adriany, Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, and Rizal Nugeraha, representative of the Advocacy and Partnership division, fulfilled the invitation to visit Quezon City University, Philippines. The meeting was attended by Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, Chancellor of Quezon City University, and staff. Also, present Dr. Songheang Ai, Director of SEAMEO Technical Education Development (TED) and Delegate from SEAMEO TED. Simultaneously with the 52nd SEAMEO Council Conference at Shangri La Manila.
During the visit, SEAMEO CECCEP and Quezon City University discussed potential collaborations that could be carried out to realize the program as a form of effort to improve the quality of early childhood education and parenting. The cooperation program includes training for teachers, apprenticeship programs, public lectures, and so on. Further discussions will be carried out through bold meetings to realize the program. It is hoped this collaboration will continue in the future. Cross-sector collaboration is integral in supporting Early Childhood Education (ECCE) and parenting to optimize the potential of resources.
