On May 15, 2024, following their participation in the Southeast Asia Regional Forum on Ensuring Equal Access to Quality Early Childhood Education and Care, Dr. Tatang Muttaqin, Senior Advisor at the MoECRT; Madam Komalasari, M.Pd., Director of Early Childhood Education, MOECRT; Mr. Adi Nuryanto from the Bureau of Cooperation & Public Relations; and Prof. Adriany, Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, made an official visit to Laos National University and the local kindergarten. The visit was warmly received by the Rector of the University.
This visit highlighted the potential for SEAMEO CECCEP and Laos to collaborate in enhancing Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) provision. The meeting aimed to pave the way for various joint initiatives and programs designed to improve the quality of early childhood education in Laos.
Prof. Adriany and Madam Komalasari engaged with various stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities in developing early childhood education in Laos. They explored different strategies and best practices that could be adopted to create an optimal learning environment for young children.
This visit was hoped to be the initial step towards a sustainable partnership between SEAMEO CECCEP and Laos, contributing positively to the development of early childhood education in the Southeast Asian region.
