Program PascaSarjana Universitas Negeri Jakarta commitment to advancing scholarly discourse on academic writing took center stage today, 16 February 2024, as the institution hosted a lecture titled "Academic Writing from a Reviewer's and Editor's Perspective. The event, at the esteemed Hatta Building, featured Professor Vina Adriany PhD, the Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, as the keynote speaker. Drawing in no less than 50 postgraduate students from various departments, the event aimed to equip attendees with invaluable insights into crafting impactful academic articles.
Vina spearheaded the lecture, emphasizing the pivotal role of rigorous academic writing. Throughout the lecture, she highlighted the importance of clarity, originality, and thoroughness in academic writing, particularly within the context of early childhood development. Emphasizing the need for articles to contribute meaningfully to the discourse on education, Vina encouraged attendees to prioritize these aspects in their research endeavors.
Furthermore, Vina addressed the challenges of maintaining consistency in writing, and offered valuable advice: "Take the time to write every day for an hour." Stressing that the creative process should take precedence over the technical aspects, Riva acknowledged the significance of personal circumstances and busyness in shaping one's writing routine.
As the lecture concluded, attendees left with a deeper understanding of the intricacies of academic writing within the realm of early childhood care education and parenting. Partnership between Universitas Negeri Jakarta and SEAMEO CECCEP continues to drive innovation and excellence in research, ultimately benefiting communities throughout Southeast Asia and beyond.
