Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Early Childhood Care and Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) celebrated its sixth anniversary with passion and enthusiasm at the SEAMEO CECCEP Office, Bandung, West Java. SEAMEO CECCEP was established on July 21 and celebrated on September 9, 2023. This celebration was a happy moment for all teams and partners who have supported SEAMEO CECCEP's journey over the past six years.

The celebration was felt in the activities that had been organized, including a short course themed "Our Happy Neighborhood (OHN)" and a sports match between SEAMEO 7 Centres Indonesia. In addition, the anniversary was also held simultaneously with the Inter Centre Collaboration Meeting (ICCM).

The highlight of the anniversary celebration took place on September 9, 2023, attended by the Board of Directors of SEAMEO Centers in Indonesia as well as division heads and staff. This peak moment was marked by the cutting of tumpeng rice by the Director of SEAMEO CECCEP together with the Deputy Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, and celebrated together with representatives from 7 SEAMEO CENTRE Indonesia.

SEAMEO CECCEP's 6th-anniversary celebration involved three main activities:

  1. 7 SEAMEO Centers Indonesia (SCI) Joint Sports Competition: Participants from seven SEAMEO Centers in Indonesia took part in a series of competitive and spirited sports matches. The games covered various sports and fostered a spirit of brotherhood as well as physical fitness.

  2. Short Course for Early Childhood Education teachers: The event also organized a Short Course on the theme of OHN (Our Happy Neighborhood). The training aimed to promote child rights-based education and provide innovative approaches in supporting early childhood education. Learners, educators, and education practitioners actively engaged in various useful training sessions.

  3. Cutting the Tumpeng Together: The celebration ended with the crowning moment, the cutting of tumpeng. The tumpeng is a symbol of diversity and unity, and the joint tumpeng cutting illustrates the spirit of togetherness and hope for a brighter future in education in the Southeast Asian region.

In her birthday speech, SEAMEO CECCEP Director, Prof. Vina Adriany, Ph.D, expressed her gratitude to all staff, partners and participants who have contributed to SEAMEO CECCEP's journey over the past six years. She highlighted the importance of collaboration with the seven SEAMEO Centers in Indonesia in achieving the common goal of improved education in the region.

This anniversary celebration reflected a positive spirit in facing the future of education in Southeast Asia. With stronger collaboration, innovation in educational approaches, and a spirit of togetherness, SEAMEO CECCEP together with the other seven Indonesian SEAMEO Centers are determined to continue contributing to creating better education for future generations.

Happy 6th anniversary, SEAMEO CECCEP!
