The SEAMEO CECCEP internship program offers a good opportunity for students and graduates to be involved in early childhood care and education activities and projects. Interns are supposed to learn from experts in the field and contribute to research and innovative programs.
On 3 August 2023, SEAMEO CECCEP conducted a farewell ceremony that marked the completion of the internship program for period 1 (January-June) as well as welcoming new internship students for period 2 (July-December) in 2023. The internship participants come from various disciplinary backgrounds and different universities. They have completed the internship program for approximately 6 months. During the internship, internship students have been involved in various activities, including international conference activities, assisting in program activities in each SEAMEO CECCEP division, providing English language training for staff, and supporting research.
Interns get many benefits from this internship, one of which is to establish communication with new colleagues. They learned to interact with various stakeholders. They worked together with SEAMEO CECCEP staff as a solid team. This valuable experience enhances their knowledge, enriches their experience, and inspires them to improve. Participants gained much insight into the challenges and opportunities in early childhood education and parenting.

Prof. Vina Adriany, P.hD, Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, expressed her high appreciation to the participants who completed their internship at SEAMEO CECCEP. Hopefully, the internship program that students have carried out will be useful in the future, and during the Internship, participants have learned many things, including self-development.
Ith Vuthy, Deputy Director for Program, welcomed the new interns (July-December 2023). He expressed his hope for the new internship students to take advantage of the opportunity to learn about many things, including learning skills and soft skills for self-development.
The SEAMEO CECCEP Internship Program has provided opportunities about the importance of quality education and the active role of the younger generation in becoming agents of change to improve the quality of education in the Southeast Asia region. This has become clear evidence that collaboration and the spirit of learning together can produce real positive changes in the world of education. Hopefully, such internship programs will continue to exist and be adopted by other educational institutions to create a bright future for children and communities throughout Southeast Asia.
