On January 9, 2026, SEAMEO CECCEP held a group exercise session as part of its regular Friday Sport Day agenda. The activity was attended by the Director, the Board of Directors, all staff members, and interns of SEAMEO CECCEP, and was carried out in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and togetherness. On 15 October 2025, SEAMEO CECCEP hosted the Annual Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting Regional Forum under the theme: “Strengthening Parenting for Holistic Integrative Early Childhood Development.” This forum served as a strategic platform for Southeast Asian countries to strengthen collaboration in enhancing the quality of Holistic Integrative Early Childhood Education (PAUD HI) and parenting services. It followed up on the ASEAN Leaders’ Declaration on Early Childhood Care and Education adopted in September 2023, which called for cross-sectoral collaboration to realize inclusive, integrated, and high-quality PAUD.

SEAMEO CECCEP received a visit from the Ardhya Garini Foundation (Yasarini) led by Mrs. Lucky Tarmuji Hadi Susanto as the Central Yasarini HRD. This visit aimed to explore potential collaboration in the field of early childhood education (ECE). Yasarini is a legal social institution engaged in education, focusing on organizing formal schools from ECE to high school levels, skills training, and entrepreneurship facilitation. One of Yasarini's flagship programs is the Angkasa School, which is spread across various regions in Indonesia and has 93 ECE/Kindergarten level schools.

The meeting, held at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, focused on strengthening collaboration and aligning programs to better serve the region's youngest learners.
On December 19, 2024, SEAMEO CECCEP successfully hosted the launch of the Policy Brief on Early Childhood Development in Southeast Asia, the GEMBIRA Parenting Module, and the Anaking App. This event aimed to raise awareness about the Policy Brief, Transition Module, and Anaking Mobile Application. It also served as a platform to facilitate dialogue among stakeholders to strengthen ECCE policies and practices. The event was attended by heads of education departments, university leaders, public service units, and other partner organizations.
On December 6, 2024, SEAMEO CECCEP hosted a visit from lecturers of Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) as part of the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of students participating in the internship program. This activity aimed to assess, monitor, and evaluate the performance of the interns who had been involved with SEAMEO CECCEP for approximately three months.
SEAMEO CECCEP organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) attended by SEAMEO CECCEP staff and internship students, focusing on International Journal Indexing and scientific journal management using the Open Journal System (OJS). The event aimed to provide insights and a deeper understanding of the processes involved in scientific journal publication, indexing, and the importance of journal management systems in enhancing publication quality. The FGD was designed to help participants comprehend how to improve journal credibility and manage scientific publications more efficiently.
On November 27, 2024, Assila Prianggi, Capacity Building Officer of SEAMEO CECCEP, participated in the Regional Mapping of Gender-Related Policies and Programmes event. The meeting focused on gender-based violence and the situational analysis of gender and skills development across Southeast Asia. The event was opened by Jhon Arnold Siena, DDP SEAMES, who emphasized that the initiative aimed to broaden access to quality education for both boys and girls, in line with the SDGs, Putra Jaya, and SEAMEO's 7 Priorities. He highlight the importance of ensuring that girls had equal access to quality learning opportunities, as gender-based violence could severely hinder their educational progress

Jakarta, August 28, 2024 - In an effort to strengthen commitment and tangible actions towards achieving inclusive Holistic Integrative Early Childhood Development (HI-ECD), the Tanoto Foundation and the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Kemenko PMK) organized an important event involving various stakeholders. The Director of SEAMEO CECCEP participated as the main speaker at this event, which aimed to unify efforts towards Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045. The event was opened with a speech by Woro Srihastuti Sulistyaningrum, Deputy for Coordination of Child Quality Improvement, Women, and Youth at Kemenko PMK. In her speech, Woro emphasized the importance of meeting the basic needs of children aged 0-6 years, including health, education, caregiving, protection, and welfare services, to ensure optimal child growth. She highlighted that early childhood development must be carried out across sectors and should not only focus on education but also ensure high-quality early childhood education.
On August 22, 2024, the 2024 China-ASEAN International Conference on Inclusive High-Quality Development in Early Childhood Education was successfully held, featuring several keynote speakers from various ASEAN member countries and China. One of the speakers who drew attention at the event was Ith Vuthy, Deputy Director for Programs at SEAMEO CECCEP, who emphasized the importance of early childhood education as a foundational element in promoting equality and social justice.
To celebrate its 7th anniversary, SEAMEO CECCEP held an International Seminar titled “Empowering Parents and Educators for Early Childhood Development: A Cultural and Gender Perspective” on July 24, 2024. This event also marked the implementation of the SEAMEO CECCEP Writing Fellowship. The event was conducted in a hybrid format and was attended by 60 practitioners and academics.

Over the past seven years, SEAMEO CECCEP has consistently strived to improve the quality of early childhood education (ECE) in Indonesia. Despite these efforts, ECCE teachers still face significant challenges, such as limited resources, lack of training, and high student-teacher ratios.
From August 1-3, 2024, the Directorate of Early Childhood Education (ECE) held a joint performance evaluation with SEAMEO CECEP to improve collaboration and the quality of early childhood education. National Education Day 2024 was celebrated vibrantly with SEAMEO CECCEP's active participation in the West Java Education Festival. Hosted at the prestigious SABUGA Building ITB, Bandung, from 29 May to 31 May 2024, the event was a collaborative effort among BBGP and BBPMP West Java, SEAMEO QITEP in Language, SEAMEO QITEP in Science, SEAMEO CECCEP and other partners.

On 14th May 2024, the Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, Prof. Vina Adriany, served as a panelist at the Southeast Asia Regional Forum on Ensuring Equal Access to Quality Early Childhood Development and Care, which was held in Vientiane, Lao PDR. This pivotal event aimed to address and strategize improvements in early childhood education and care (ECCE) across Southeast Asia.

From April 22nd to 24th, three representatives from the SEAMEO Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (CECCEP) participated in the Centre Policy Network Summit (CPRN) held in Brunei Darussalam. Excited to recount their experiences, the SEAMEO CECCEP team expressed their enthusiasm for their involvement in the summit organized by SEAMEO VOCTECH. Mr. Iwan Aries Setyawan, Mr. Irfan Ansori, and Ms. Sitti Huzaimah showcased the cutting-edge research conducted by SEAMEO CECCEP in early childhood education and parenting.
SEAMEO CECCEP held in-depth discussions on March 25-26 2024 with partners regarding the study preparation and program development to strengthen the ECCE to Primary School transition through parenting programs. This activity was attended by all SEAMEO CECCEP staff at the Vasaka Maison Bandung Hotel. Director SEAMEO CECCEP, Prof. Vina Adriany, opened the activity and said that this activity was a step to analyze what parents need in preparing their children to enter elementary school.

SEAMEO CECCEP took proactive steps to enhance understanding and awareness of gender in early childhood education through a general lecture held on Thursday, February 15, 2024. The event, which was open to the public, took a place at auditorium of SEAMEO CECCEP. Siem Reap, February 23, 2024 - The Sokha Siem Reap Resort & Convention Centre in Siem Reap hosted a significant gathering as stakeholders from across Southeast Asia attended the High-Level Regional Conference on Foundational Learning. With the theme "Translating Data to Action," the event was organized by UNICEF, SEAMEO Secretariat, ASEAN Secretariat, UNICEF EAPRO, AKCF (ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund), and SEA-PLM (Southeast Asia Primary Learning Metrics). Ith Vuthy, Deputy Director for Program at SEAMEO CECCEP, played a pivotal role as the moderator in the CHINA-SEA Partnership Workshop held on January 15-16, 2024, at the Cambodiana Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This event was a collaborative initiative involving the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Technical Education Development (SEAMEO TED), Go Study Global Education, and various partners. The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization - Regional Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) organized a workshop titled "Journal Management and Scientific Article Writing." The workshop was designed to enhance participants' skills in journal management, including the article selection process, editorial management, and publication governance. Additionally, participants were invited to delve into the art of writing scientific articles, covering an understanding of article structure, effective writing methods, and strategies for presenting research findings clearly and persuasively. The event was held at the SEAMEO CECCEP office in Lembang, Bandung, on Monday, December 18, 2023. A total of 25 SEAMEO CECCEP staff members participated in this activity.
SEAMEO CECCEP in collaboration with Tanoto Foundation organized the Annual Early Childhood Education and Parenting Regional. The 3rd Annual Early Childhood Education and Parenting Regional Forum was themed "Holistic Integrated ECCE and a Follow-Up Plan For ASEAN Declaration on ECCE. This forum took place on October 11, 2023 at Swiss-Belhotel Rainforest, Bali. The forum was attended by approximately 120 participants from around the world. Participants attended this forum online and offline. Guest speakers included Prof. Maki Hayashikawa from the UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office in Jakarta, Ms. Amalia Serrano from the ASEAN Secretariat, Prof. Mercedes Mayol Lassalle from OMEP WORD, Ms. Komalasari, M.Pd, Nurhaida from the Department of Education and Culture Paniani Papua, Suratno, S.Pd, MM from the Education Office of Banyuwangi, Eddy Henry from the Head of Policy Advocacy of Tanoto Foundation.
Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) and Communication Studies Program, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia established a collaboration. This cooperation aimed to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) document took place at the UPI Communication Studies Program Building on September 18, 2023.

This celebration was a happy moment for all teams and partners who have supported SEAMEO CECCEP's journey over the past six years.
Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) was proud to host the Inter Centre Collaboration Meeting (ICCM). The meeting was mainly aimed to discuss collaborative programs that will support SEAMEO's future initiatives. The seven SEAMEO Centers that participated in this meeting included SEAMEO CECCEP, SEAMEO BIOTROP, SEAMEO RECFON, SEAMEO QITEP in Language, SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics, SEAMEO QITEP in Science, and SEAMEO SEAMOLEC. Each of these centers has its own role in education, research, and development in the Southeast Asian region. The meeting discussed potential cooperation programs among the SEAMEO centers. It was a collaborative effort in competency development, teacher training, research, and learner development.
SEAMEO CECCEP established a partnership with the Toba District Education, Youth and Sports Office. This momentum was marked by an MoU Signing Ceremony. In this event, the Regent of Toba, Ir. Poltak Sitorus, as well as the Director of SEAMEO CECCEP. Prof. Vina Adriany, PhD, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) document on September 9, 2023. The MoU document signing ceremony was held at the SEAMEO CECCEP auditorium building and witnessed by the Board of directors of 7 SEAMEO Centers Indonesia and staff.
Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization - Regional Center for Early Childhood Care and Education (SEAMEO CECCEP) conducted a short course entitled "Our Happy Neighbourhoods: Building Quality of Early Childhood Care Education based on Children's Rights" on September 5, 2023. This program designed for all early childhood teachers in West Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia. This short course was a form of community service from SEAMEO CECCEP for ECE teachers in order to celebrate the 6th SEAMEO CECCEP Anniversary.
Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, Professor Vina Adriany, Ph.D became a guest speaker in an interactive seminar. The seminar was organized by the early childhood education teacher education study program of Al-Azhar University Indonesia and the DKI Jakarta Education Office. The theme of the seminar was "The Importance of Early Childhood Education Before Primary School: The Role of Early Childhood Education Units in Preventing and Handling Violence for Early Childhood". This seminar was broadcast through the YouTube channel of the Jakarta Education Office and witnessed by approximately 300 participants, both academics and practitioners.
The Asia-Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators (APCoRE) visited SEAMEO CECCEP on August 29, 2023. A total of 70 participants consisting of rectors and deans from various universities in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and India attended the SEAMEO CECCEP office in Bandung, West Java. The event was led by Dr. Julius Meneses, President of Apcore Philippines
The SEAMEO CECCEP internship program offers a good opportunity for students and graduates to be involved in early childhood care and education activities and projects. Interns are supposed to learn from experts in the field and contribute to research and innovative programs. On 3 August 2023, SEAMEO CECCEP conducted a farewell ceremony that marked the completion of the internship program for period 1 (January-June) as well as welcoming new internship students for period 2 (July-December) in 2023. The internship participants come from various disciplinary backgrounds and different universities. They have completed the internship program for approximately 6 months. During the internship, internship students have been involved in various activities, including international conference activities, assisting in program activities in each SEAMEO CECCEP division, providing English language training for staff, and supporting research
Prof. Caroline Daley, Dean of Graduate Studies and Dr. Ainslie Moore, Deputy Director International for the University of Auckland, New Zealand, visited the SEAMEO Regional Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (CECCEP). The visit was aimed at sharing experiences and strengthening cooperation in early childhood and parenting, as well as sharing best practices to improve the quality of education in Southeast Asian.
Bandung Indonesia - Universitas Putra Malaysia visited the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care and Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) on July 28, 2023. This visit aimed to share experiences and knowledge about early childhood education and parenting. The visit was designed to allow students to expand their knowledge, ideas, and experience and enhance fruitful cooperation between the two institutions.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (MoECRT), supported by the ASEAN Secretariat and The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) has successfully welcomed the ministers of Education from 11 Southeast Asian countries, the Southeast Asian ambassadors to Indonesia, as well as delegates and speakers at the St Regis Hotel Jakarta on July 25-26, 2023. The MoECRT had organized the Regional Consultation Meeting on Declaration on Early Childhood Care and Education as part of the Southeast Asia Policy Dialogue on Early Childhood Care and Education (SEAPD on ECCE) forum attended by education ministers from ASEAN member countries. The SEAPD on ECCE forum discussed the draft declaration of Southeast Asian Ministers of Education regarding the transformation of Early Childhood Education in the ASEAN region. The declaration will be adopted at the ASEAN Heads of State Meeting during the 43rd ASEAN Summit which will be held in September 2023.

SEAMEO CECCEP collaborated with Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) to hold a general lecture as a realization of the collaboration program between UPI and SEAMEO CECCEP with Margaret MEAD and the Anthropology of Childhood: Local Knowledge and Universal Standards as its theme. Professor Jan Newberry explained the perspective of Early Childhood Education in the community, social and cultural environment on 22 May 2023.
Celebrating National Education Day, SEAMEO CECCEP hosted the Soft Launching of the Policy Brief on 10 May 2023, at the SEAMEO CECCEP Auditorium, Lembang, Bandung. This policy brief has been prepared from 2022 to 2023 by the SEAMEO CECCEP team with the support and involvement of Academics, GB Members, Advisory, ministry representatives, and related partners. The Soft Launching of this policy brief was carried out in a blended mode, attended by 126 audiences both joining online and face to face. The resource persons who attended the event offline are Ir. Harris Iskandar, Ph.D. as the representative of the Directorate of ECE MoECRT, Dr. Euis Kurniati (Head of ECE Master Program, UPI), Irwan Gunawan, M.Pd representative of Tanoto Foundation, and Eko Novi Arianti, M.Si as Assistant Deputy Gender Mainstreaming Social and Cultural Affairs Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS).
The teachers are a learner who will always try to increase their capacity so that their abilities are increasingly honed and continue to grow. The standards of teacher ability a decade ago were certainly different from today's standards. The quality of educators is very important to improving the quality of learning because teachers play an important role in ensuring that children receive the right stimulation and support to help children develop skills and prepare to enroll in school.
Malaysia- SEAMEO CECCEP representative attended CPRN at SEAMEO RECSAM, Malaysia. Mr. Irfan Ansori, Head of the Research and Development Division, and Ms. Assila Prianggi, Capacity Building Officer, participated in the 2023 CPRN Summit. The event was held on 6-9th March 2023 at SEAMEO RECSAM, Penang, Malaysia. The Centres Policy Research Network (CPRN) Summit was established in 2013. At first, It was introduced as one of the SEAMEO Partners. The networking was established to enhance the relevance and sharpen the responsiveness of SEAMEO Centres and Secretariat to the needs of education leaders for policy research to address regional human resource development issues in Southeast Asia. In March 2016, the workshop hosted by Southeast Asian Regional Centre for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) became the moment to establish CPRN at College, Los Banos in the Philippines.

Bandung, 24 February 2023, Good collaboration is needed to increase cooperation in the development of early childhood education and parenting. SEAMEO CECCEP conducted a blended meeting with the ASEAN Secretariat and UNICEF EAPRO. This meeting aims to synergize in improving the quality of early childhood and parenting.
SEAMEO Regional Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (CECCEP) has provided opportunities for students to develop soft skills and work experience by opening internship programs. Many students who have met the terms and conditions needed by the centre joined this program. There are 16 students successfully passed the internship recruitment selection conducted by SEAMEO CECCEP in 2023. This internship program is held from February 13 to June 30, 2023.
SEAMEO CECCEP has always been active in contributing to the field of ECCE and parenting. SEAMEO CECCEP strives to realize its vision and mission to enhance regional understanding, cooperation, and unity of purpose among member countries for a better quality of life. SEAMEO CECCEP continues to enhance cooperation with partners by establishing networks and partnerships, providing forums between policymakers and experts, and promoting sustainable human resource development. SEAMEO CECCEP cannot work alone but requires strong inter-sectoral relationships. This is why our visit to Quezon City University, Philippines was considered important to our programmes and activities.
Prof Vina Adriany, Director of SEAMEO CECCEP and Mr Rizal Nugraha, Advocacy and Partnership Officer as SEAMEO Service Awardee, participated in the 52nd SEAMEO Council Conference (SEAMEC), which took place from 7 to 10 February 2023 at Edsa Shangri-La, Manila. This conference was followed by the SEAMEO Service Award, and this year marks its 52nd year of SEAMEO establishment. As one of the major organizations in Southeast Asia, SEAMEO continues to strive for the joint development of local communities to promote quality and a better life through education equivalency, health prevention education, promotion of culture and traditions, information and communication technology, languages, poverty alleviation, agriculture, and natural resources.
6 January 2023 –SEAMEO CECCEP has held a release ceremony for internship students in 2022. A total of 15 domestic and international students participated in the student release event in a blended mode at the SEAMEO CECCEP office. They finished this internship in three months, starting October to December. Intern students come from various universities, including Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Bandung Muhammadiyah University, Indonesian Informatics and Business University, and Maharani College University, India.
