The Director of SEAMEO CECCEP participated as the main speaker at this event, which aimed to unify efforts towards Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045. The event was opened with a speech by Woro Srihastuti Sulistyaningrum, Deputy for Coordination of Child Quality Improvement, Women, and Youth at Kemenko PMK. In her speech, Woro emphasized the importance of meeting the basic needs of children aged 0-6 years, including health, education, caregiving, protection, and welfare services, to ensure optimal child growth. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (MoECRT), supported by the ASEAN Secretariat and The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) has successfully welcomed the ministers of Education from 11 Southeast Asian countries, the Southeast Asian ambassadors to Indonesia, as well as delegates and speakers at the St Regis Hotel Jakarta on July 25-26, 2023. The MoECRT had organized the Regional Consultation Meeting on Declaration on Early Childhood Care and Education as part of the Southeast Asia Policy Dialogue on Early Childhood Care and Education (SEAPD on ECCE) forum attended by education ministers from ASEAN member countries. The SEAPD on ECCE forum discussed the draft declaration of Southeast Asian Ministers of Education regarding the transformation of Early Childhood Education in the ASEAN region. The declaration will be adopted at the ASEAN Heads of State Meeting during the 43rd ASEAN Summit which will be held in September 2023.

Guest Lecture: Understanding Sociology, Anthropology, and Early Childhood Care Education

SEAMEO CECCEP collaborated with Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) to hold a general lecture as a realization of the collaboration program between UPI and SEAMEO CECCEP with Margaret MEAD and the Anthropology of Childhood: Local Knowledge and Universal Standards as its theme. Professor Jan Newberry explained the perspective of Early Childhood Education in the community, social and cultural environment on 22 May 2023.

Soft Launching of Policy Brief on Universal Child Care

Celebrating National Education Day, SEAMEO CECCEP hosted the Soft Launching of the Policy Brief on 10 May 2023, at the SEAMEO CECCEP Auditorium, Lembang, Bandung. This policy brief has been prepared from 2022 to 2023 by the SEAMEO CECCEP team with the support and involvement of Academics, GB Members, Advisory, ministry representatives, and related partners. The Soft Launching of this policy brief was carried out in a blended mode, attended by 126 audiences both joining online and face to face. The resource persons who attended the event offline are Ir. Harris Iskandar, Ph.D. as the representative of the Directorate of ECE MoECRT, Dr. Euis Kurniati (Head of ECE Master Program, UPI), Irwan Gunawan, M.Pd representative of Tanoto Foundation, and Eko Novi Arianti, M.Si as Assistant Deputy Gender Mainstreaming Social and Cultural Affairs Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS).

SEAMEO CECCEP's Delegation for CPRN at SEAMEO RECSAM Malaysia

Malaysia- SEAMEO CECCEP representative attended CPRN at SEAMEO RECSAM, Malaysia. Mr. Irfan Ansori, Head of the Research and Development Division, and Ms. Assila Prianggi, Capacity Building Officer, participated in the 2023 CPRN Summit. The event was held on 6-9th March 2023 at SEAMEO RECSAM, Penang, Malaysia. The Centres Policy Research Network (CPRN) Summit was established in 2013. At first, It was introduced as one of the SEAMEO Partners. The networking was established to enhance the relevance and sharpen the responsiveness of SEAMEO Centres and Secretariat to the needs of education leaders for policy research to address regional human resource development issues in Southeast Asia. In March 2016, the workshop hosted by Southeast Asian Regional Centre for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) became the moment to establish CPRN at College, Los Banos in the Philippines.

EXPLORATORY MEETING SEAMEO CECCEP, ASEAN SECRETARIAT, AND UNICEF EAPRO

Developing Competencies through Internship in SEAMEO CECCEP

SEAMEO Regional Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (CECCEP) has provided opportunities for students to develop soft skills and work experience by opening internship programs. Many students who have met the terms and conditions needed by the centre joined this program. There are 16 students successfully passed the internship recruitment selection conducted by SEAMEO CECCEP in 2023. This internship program is held from February 13 to June 30, 2023.

SEAMEO CECCEP strives to realize its vision and mission to enhance regional understanding, cooperation, and unity of purpose among member countries for a better quality of life. SEAMEO CECCEP continues to enhance cooperation with partners by establishing networks and partnerships, providing forums between policymakers and experts, and promoting sustainable human resource development. SEAMEO CECCEP cannot work alone but requires strong inter-sectoral relationships. This is why our visit to Quezon City University, Philippines was considered important to our programmes and activities.

52nd SEAMEO Council Conference back-to-back with SEAMEO Service Award

Prof Vina Adriany, Director of SEAMEO CECCEP and Mr Rizal Nugraha, Advocacy and Partnership Officer as SEAMEO Service Awardee, participated in the 52nd SEAMEO Council Conference (SEAMEC), which took place from 7 to 10 February 2023 at Edsa Shangri-La, Manila. This conference was followed by the SEAMEO Service Award, and this year marks its 52nd year of SEAMEO establishment. As one of the major organizations in Southeast Asia, SEAMEO continues to strive for the joint development of local communities to promote quality and a better life through education equivalency, health prevention education, promotion of culture and traditions, information and communication technology, languages, poverty alleviation, agriculture, and natural resources.

Release of SEAMEO CECCEP Internship Students in 2022

6 January 2023 –SEAMEO CECCEP has held a release ceremony for internship students in 2022. A total of 15 domestic and international students participated in the student release event in a blended mode at the SEAMEO CECCEP office. They finished this internship in three months, starting October to December. Intern students come from various universities, including Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Bandung Muhammadiyah University, Indonesian Informatics and Business University, and Maharani College University, India.
